WRITTEN REVIEW: More Brains!: A Return to the Living Dead

By CORY CARR
A retrospective look at Dan O’Bannon’s Return of the Living Dead. It explores the film’s surprise success and cult fandom, becoming one of the most entertaining zombie films of the ‘80’s, if not ever!

MORE BRAINS! A Return to the Living Dead by Bill Philputt, assembles the complete cast and crew [minus O‘Bannon, RIP] to tell the tale of what went on behind the scenes of one of my favorite zombie flicks. You’ll hear stories about Dan O’Bannon legal trouble with the “Living Dead” title, how the special effects were almost the worst in horror film history [they were almost Troll 2 bad.], and how they filmed Linnea Quigley’s nude dance sequence.

On top of it all, there are behind the scenes photographs/footage, storyboards, conceptual art, publicity materials, and archival documents.

One of the things that I found kinda funny about the making of Return of the Living Dead was how the actors got along. It was watching the episode of E! True Hollywood Stories about Saved by the Bell. The cast all either, hooked-up, wanted to hook-up, or hated each other. By far my favorite cast member, not counting Linnea Quigley, is Clu Gulager. He tells such off the wall stories, I can never tell how much it true. LOL

Any horror fan should have this in their film library, and is a MUST for zombie geeks. Check it out!
