PODCAST 9: The Fly, The Thing & Invasion of the Body Snatchers [Remake Edition]

This time around, Forest & Cory compare notes on some of the best remakes of all time as they discuss Invasion of the Body Snatchers, John Carpenter's The Thing, and David Cronenberg's The Fly -- with a little House of Wax & The Blob thrown in for good measure.

In doing so, Forest suggests that perhaps The Thing is about man's fear of "catching the gay". Also, check out James Rolfe's short film Blob Town and a behind the scenes interview of John Carpenter on the set of The Thing [linked below].

Great show guys.

Now now, not all of the more recent remakes/reboots/reimaginings/whatever are bad. I'd cite Zack Snyder's Dawn of the Dead as an example here. It's a pretty enjoyable flick and is considerably different from Romero's classic.
