DECK THE HALLS WITH CURSES & KILLERS: 25 Christmas Tales of Terror

By CORY CARR
It is that time of year when we get to eat, drink and be merry as we hang weeds from the ceiling and forcibly make-out with people. It's a fun time of year, but it's difficult as a horror fan to find something to watch that is both festive AND scary. So I decided to do some research. Below are 25 holiday themed/set horror flicks to be on the look out for, as well as their subsequent sequels and remakes. Some are classics, while others you shouldn't touch with a...thirty-nine-and-a-half foot pole.

There are a few extras thrown in for good measure. Either they are favorites of Slaughter Film, or they should be considered horror movies. Have I missed any? Are any of these your favorites?

SCROOGE aka "A Christmas Carol" - 1951

A Christmas classic that has been told and retold for over 150 years. It has become a holiday staple, but I'm sure you are wondering why has it made it's way onto a list of "Tales of Terror". Well, if you think about it, A Christmas Carol shares the same formula as such classics as Creepshow and old EC Comics. Involving a character who is a jerk, they set themselves up for disaster and in the end they get their comeuppances. Scrooge treats everyone like crap and in turn is visited by 3 ghosts. What's more horrific than ghosts?!

Yes, I know it's a children's movies. But have you ever really thought about the Grinch? He's a great big green...thing that breaks into people's houses and steals shit. Imagine waking up to find him in your house. Terrifying.
