Interestingly enough, Shocking Dark was not the only Aliens rip-off that Bruno Mattei made. He made a couple of zombie flicks in the Phillipines right before he passed away. One of them, Zombies: The Beginning, was practically a shot-for-shot clone of Aliens, replacing the xenomorphs with zombies and the queen with a giant brain or something.

Moreover, those ever-creative Italians not only made a Terminator sequel by way of Aliens, as Forrest reviewed, but they actually made a sequel to the original Alien in the early 80s. It’s called Alien 2: On Earth. I haven’t seen it yet, but it looks…well…what a cheap Italian “sequel” could be expected to look like.

And since Forrest is a Bubo fan, he might consider checking out Wrath of the Titans, which gives the mechanical owl a slightly more dignified cameo.

Let's drink some monkey blood and burn some gasoline. Shoot for the stars down in the diamond valley where the yellow eyes glow. It's the fiery tips we've got to walk upon. More of a game the black waters instilled within. At the end of the line the darkened ocean forges frozen smoke and kilter. Curl out of the skin and make the vines that bear the great divine.
