Cory asked about the better sci-fi films of the 50s. Here are some that I've seen or have heard good things about:

Them! - Already been covered

Creature from the Black Lagoon

This Island Earth - One of the biggest-budgeted sci-fi films of the 1950s. The fact that it and Forbidden Planet, another similarly big-budgeted film, failed in the box office relegated American sci-fi largely to the B-movie circuit until the late 60s.

It Came From Outer Space - A member of the triumverate of important alien invasion films from the early 50s, next to War of the Worlds and Invaders from Mars.

The Werewolf - A revisionist werewolf film built on 50s genre assumptions

The Thing That Couldn't Die; Curse of the Undead - Two unconventional horror movies made by Universal Studios at the end of their reign, just as Hammer Films and Roger Corman Poe movies were picking up the slack.

Great episode. So now you guys have done 2 out of 3 of the main sword and sorcery films. All that's left is Beastmaster. The other one you guys already did was Conan the Barbarian. Still need to see Deathstalker 2, especially since I enjoyed the first one.

Anyway, so Transformers 5: The Last Knight, is coming soon. Apparently, the reason Bay came back to do another one is because that was the only way the studio would help finance his last film 13 Hours.

And they're planning on making a Tetris movie. Not in the same vane as King of Kong, that Donkey Kong arcade movie. No, I'm talking about in the same vane as Battleship (that movie really sucks). Apparently it's supposed to be a Chinese film, and will be made into a trilogy. Why? Fuck if I know.

Speaking of fuck if knowing, they're also doing another Jungle Book movie, that has nothing to do with that previous one that just got released. Yeah, Andy Circus and some other film production company are doing their own take on it independent from Disney.

Gareth Edwards won't be directing the next Godzilla film. Shit.

And worst news for last, those Hollywood cocksuckers are going ahead with the Jumanji remake, which will include stars such as The Rock, Jack Black, and Kevin Hart. I still love the original Jumanji, so whoever greenlit this idea rather than a Judge Dredd sequel can go fuck themselves.
