PODCAST 214: Deep Rising & Terror Out of the Sky

This week Forest dives deep to explain what he enjoys about the all but forgotten Deep Rising. Cory has been attacked by tarantulas, then ants and now bees as he reviews the made for television sequel to Savage Bees, Terror Out of the Sky -- in spite of it's oddly worded title.

The Horror Duo also discuss remakes with the new Blair Witch trailer, the interesting effects of Pokemon Go and Godzilla Resurgence is set to be released in North America. They also share memories about made for television films including Peter Benchley's The Beast and Quicksilver Highway.

Forest talked about the CGI from DEEP RISING and he hated it at first, but now it seems pretty on par for the time. I maintain to this day that the worse CGI ever seen in a theatrically-released film is the T-Rex from Sound of Thunder (2005).

The actor who played Joey in DEEP RISING (Kevin J O'Connor) was also in THE MUMMY as the scheming sidekick.
Another good ship-based movie is VIRUS from 1999, with Jamie Lee Curtis and Donald Sutherland.
Speaking of TV movies, I remember seeing TREMORS as an NBC Sunday Night movie in grade school. The TV and newspaper hype was everywhere, and we talked about that movie for weeks.

I enjoyed Deep Rising. I think it's a fun film.

Haven't seen Terror out of the Sky.

What if I told you guys that there is a movie banned in America? Partly by Disney? I'm not talking about Song of the South, I'm talking about something that's roughly a decade old.

Awesome podcast guys! Fun and informative as always. Deep Rising is entertaining and Treat Williams catchphrase from the movie "Now What?" always stands out. I'm curious as to whether you guys are planning a Friday the 13th double feature in the near future, since you guys have such fun views on the series. I suggest doing a non-Jason episode in which you cover the movies featuring a Jason stand-in,a-la A New Beginning or Jason Goes To Hell. Ps,Passion of the Christ 2? That was hilarious news. Does Jesus come back as Jesus The White and lead his army against the Temple? Awesome stuff guys and look forward to future podcasts.
