PODCAST 247: SS Girls & Frankenstein's Army [Naziploitation Edition]

This week the Horror Duo address the Naziploitation sub-genre of film. Forest shares his thoughts on Bruno Mattei's first film, SS Girls, (aka The Private House of the SS). Cory reviews the found footage monster extravaganza that is Frankenstein's Army.

Forest talk about how Film Struck is slowly consuming him. On the flip side of that coin, Cory pulls the plug on his cable service and buys an antenna to watch retro tv shows and Svengoolie, at last! The Horror Duo chat about the passing of Peabody award winning Robert Osbourne and the esthetic of 90s basic cable. All this and Cory rails against America's greatest scourge, Girl Scouts and the cookies they sell!

Forest so far has reviewed six Bruno Mattei movies:

- Cruel Jaws
- Hell of the Living Dead
- Rats: Night of Terror
- The Other Hell
- Terminator 2: Shocking Dark
- SS Girls

What’s next? A PREDATOR rip-off? Some Rome-sploitation perhaps?

I’m not a fan of the sound mixing in movies today. I have to crank up the volume to hear the characters, and then a gunshot rings out and my wife comes into the room telling me to turn down the volume. It soon becomes a vicious cycle.

I’d like for Forest to share, maybe as a show note, the movies he’s been watching on Filmstruck.
