PODCAST 258: Wake in Fright & The Creeping Terror

This week brings an end to Monsters and Madmen month. Using Shudder, The Horror Duo look deep into the bleak black hole that is the heart of man. Forest questions his own alcoholism when watching Wake in Fright, aka Outback. Cory explores the Ed Wood-like world of Vic Savage, by watching and discussing Vic's directorial debut The Creeping Terror.

Also, Forest experiences technical difficulties as he is one of the remaining few to still receive movies from Netflix...in the mail...like an old person. Cory is excited to play Super Mario RPG for the first time, and also, to soon own and re-watch Shin Godzilla. All this and the Horror Duo discuss the dated, yet charming, Bond films of Roger Moore.

Hey guys I got behind in my podcasts, and only just listened to the Stuff review. Forrest that is hilarious that you used to imagine movie plots based on cover art. I would do that too, especially with the Stuff cover. I visualized the stuff patiently waiting inside its containers and then coming alive at the right moment to terrorize people in grocery stores, houses, summer camps, etc. I guess as a kid, I imagined a modern-day Blob meets Friday the 13th. Years later I was let down only to see Detective Moriarity driving around, poking his nose into things, while an anti-consumerism message lurked in the background with a few bodies dissolving here and there. Yawwwwwn....haha. My teenage mind wasnt impressed, but thats not saying much. You guys have inspired me to have another look. We will see.
