PODCAST 317: Revenge of the Creature & Shark Exorcist

This week the Horror Duo continue their discussion of films featuring deep sea killers. Forest watches the Gillman dish out some comeuppances in Revenge of the Creature. Cory scours the Earth for yet another facepalming-ly bad shark movie and he succeeded in finding one that worships Satan - Shark Exorcist.

Forest & Cory also share their appreciation for Joe Bob Briggs, while discussing The Last Drive-In movie marathon craftfully provided by the great people over at Shudder. They also return to their roots by releasing their first, and thought long lost, episode in years. So make sure to check out Episode 17: Friday the 13th Triple Feature, covering Friday the 13th Part 2, 3 & The Final Chapter.

Hey guys I thought I’d start off by sharing my thoughts on The Last Jedi-jk. As two great men once said a movies just a movie and we have political madmen to worry about lol. The discussions about Star Wars on the past few episodes have been entertaining to say the least and it shows the priorities of America sometimes when fan films require a quarter of a billion dollars. For that amount of money we can fix the ending of Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom eh Forest? Lol. Keep it up guys you’re the voices of sanity in a crazy world!!!

Once more, Forest's review of REVENGE OF THE CREATURE is the most generous one that I've personally come across. Great work.

If Cory wanted to, he could start tackling the Asylum's MEGA SHARK series, or their TWO-HEADED SHARK ATTACK series, which is already up to SIX heads now.

For 50s films and their 80s (or early 90s) remakes:

Invasion of the Body Snatchers -> Body Snatchers (Abel Ferarra)
Invaders from Mars -> Invaders from Mars (Tobe Hooper)
The Fly -> The Fly and The Fly II
The Thing from Another World -> The Thing (John Carpenter)
The Brain Eaters -> Robert L. Heinlein's Puppet Masters
It! The Terror from Beyond Space -> Alien (Ridley Scott)
Gojira -> Godzilla 1985
The Blob -> The Blob
Die, Monster, Die! -> The Curse (both adaptations of Lovecraft's COLOUR OUT OF SPACE)
Not of this Earth -> Not of the Earth (Corman remaking his own films)
The Wasp Woman -> The Wasp Woman (idem.)
Pit and the Pendulum -> Pit and the Pendulum (Stuart Gordon)

Oh, a couple of more:

House of Wax -> House of Wax (w/ Paris Hilton)
Attack of the 50 Foot Woman -> Attack of the 50 Foot Woman (w/ Darryl Hannah)
House on the Haunted Hill -> House on the Haunted Hill (1999)
The Haunting (1963) -> The Haunting (1999)
Journey to the Center of the Earth (1959) - Journey to the Center of the Earth (2008)
The Lost World (1960) -> The Lost World (1992) and The Lost World (1998)
