PODCAST 325: Alien 3000 & Resonnances [Alien Predator Edition]

This week the Horror Duo prepare themselves for The Predator, due out soon, by taking on a pair of low budget alien predator flicks. Forest revisits Alien 3000, aka Unseen Evil 2, about invisible aliens that eat gold. Cory checks out Resonnances, the early '00s french invasion film that might just borrow a little too much from Tremors.

Forest also chats about seeing The Meg - the shark movie that isn't as fun as it should be, Cory checks out and is satisfied by The Nun, the latest in the supernatural universe created by James Wan. And together they chat about the passing of one of the manliest men in all of the '70s, Burt Reynolds.

In addition to SILENT RAGE and HERO AND THE TERROR, Chuck Norris did a third horror film: HELLBOUND, which had him taking on Satan's emissary, who had been imprisoned by Richard the Lionhearted during the Crusades.

THE MEG has been enormously successful worldwide, poised to pass 500 million dollars. I'm personally surprised, as I would've thought that almost two decades worth of cheap direct-to-SyFy shark movies would have killed the genre dead.

Three years before the first Aliens vs. Predator was made, there was a TV movie called CODE RED, which basically told the same story: Aliens vs. Predator. It's on Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7CdrFjjOB2c

Forest refers to Lorenzo Lamas as Duncan MacCleod. Actually, Duncan was played by Adrian Paul. Lorenzo Lamas was in the TV series "Renegade," which played about the same time.
