@Forest - Did you see STRAIGHT OUTTA COMPTON? If so, how did that fare against your average musician biopic and BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY?
Apparently, the LET THE RIGHT ONE IN book is one of those rare cases in which the movie is better than the source material. One reviewer points out that the book was more about the author wanting to pile one appalling detail on top of the other, than about telling a compelling story. Case in point, the fate of Hakkan: In the book, Eli's attempt to drain his blood at the hospital goes awry and he becomes a vampire. A child molester vampire. A child molester vampire who can use his now perpetually-erect penis to detect underage victims in the vicinity.
