PODCAST 353: Pupper Master: The Littlest Reich & Critters: A New Binge

This week the Horror Crew return to their roots with a pair of new sequels of iconic old pint sized killers. Rhiannon shares her vast knowledge of the Puppet Master series as Forest reviews Puppet Master: The Littlest Reich. And Cory explains how the Critters: A New Binge was enjoyable, but a total misfire.

Together they also chat about their expectations for Mark Hamill's Child's Play remake voice work, the death of actor Joe Pilato, and they continue an earlier discussion about internet fandom and amateur pop culture historians.

Forest: Was there any character in the Critter: A New Binge who went by the name of Buttram?

Re: Puppet Master - Leech Woman killing the guy in the first Puppet Master film is unsettling, but is also pretty nonsensical. There's the Law of Conservation of Mass, in which you have to ask yourself how she can fit enough leeches to exsanguinate an adult male in her small frame. Also, her killing the guy is dependent on him being so oblivious and stupid, that a) he doesn't care which woman is giving him a lick down, and b) the guy never turns over to see who it is in order to up the game into further, more pleasurable sexual acts.

The stop-motion in the Puppet Master films was done by David Allen, who did Robot Jox and Robot Wars, which you two reviewed, and also Q: The Winged Serpent, directed by the late Larry Cohen.

Hey guys after hearing that both Critters and Puppet Master have generally extended universes, I've come up with a solution: convince Disney to buy the rights to both franchises and pit them against the Avengers, because maybe then pre-sale tickets to a Puppet Master movie can crash the internet like Endgame did! With that aside, enjoy Street Trash at the movie house guys, or as I call it the movie that convinced me hobo drama should be a genre!!! See ya next week!
